As most of you are aware, today is the "National Day of Prayer" which was first established in 1775 by the Continental Congress and then recently (1952) reaffirmed as an "official annual day of observance" by the United States Congress.
It was noted with considerable concern that a federal judge deemed the National Day of Prayer "unconstitutional" on April 15, but this has had no affect on today's events and probably, like many such other frivolous interventions, will fall by the wayside.
The most important thing is that God's people take this seriously. It's not the average disinterested non-church goer that should see the importance of this day, but the people of God who love this nation and know that we are adrift, both morally and politically, as a nation.
I'm delighted to see that we are expecting a significant turnout for this event and will be conducting it outdoors in a public venue so that people in the area can know with certainty that we still trust God for the destiny of this nation!
Thank you for being a pray-er. Thank you for being someone who believes that God still answers prayer and that prayers do make a difference! (A recent Gallop Poll indicated that 87% of Americans still believe that!)
