Dr. Lawrence is a 29 year old physician who is part of the Tibetan Hospital Heart Catherization Team that we’ve helped to support through our missions giving here at North Way. To meet this dynamic young man and realize that he is on the cutting edge of helping to bring technology into a remote and forgotten nation; but not just technology for it’s own sake, rather for the sake of saving children’s lives and sharing the gospel of Jesus with them, is an amazing thing.
As I listen to Dr. Lawrence share his journey, he sounds like many of us. A little rebellious and very “stiff-necked” at times, it took the Lord a while to get his full attention. However when He did so, He transformed this extremely intelligent, well-educated and now “pristinely positioned” young man to help coordinate the efforts of experts from Stanford, Harvard and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center to reach another 10,000 children over the next three years with the life-saving procedure that only happened because of simple steps of faith.
For all of us, this should stand as a reminder that God’s ability to find people and pull them out of whatever direction they’re heading and into His purposes comes about because someone prays, cares and then has the courage to engage them in a challenging but loving way. I pray that the Lord will put someone like that on your heart today and you’ll remember Dr. Lawrence who will be coming to Pittsburgh in about 5 months with a team of 4 doctors that he is helping to train to move this effort forward.
What a joy to be part of such great Kingdom advances!
Blessings,
Dr. Jay

A powerful and poignant example of a "broken and poured out" vessel from which the aroma goes to the Throne and strikes a pure chord w/in our spirits.
We all will be watching to see how God continues to use this young warrior!
